PKRA Germany 2 Comments Off

Today we started again with the doubles, it was blazing over 35 knots. I took my 6, up against Yates in the 2nd heat of the day. I had a nice heat despite the conditions, landing a blind judge, slim toeside, 313 and some megaloops. Unfortunately, Yates had a bit more variation and I lost. I went out a couple of times to ride for myself, because I thought the doubles would not be ridden. It turned out I had to ride in the doubles, so at about 17.15 I had to go out for my heat against Hebert. I had a nice heat, landing a back 2 blind airpass, 313, huge buttchecked slim downloop, kgb, lowmobe, megaloop and regular backmobe leash landed. I won the heat so I am super happy right now, next heat up against Schignitz tomorrow.
The single results:
Langeree 1
Hadlow 2
Zoon 3

ladies:
Litwin 1
Kajiya 2
Winkowska 3

More tomorrow!

PKRA Germany 1 Comments Off

Yesterday the PKRA Germany event started! We registered on friday evening, we had some delay because our car had to go to a garage because one of the brakes was broken. We have a really big van now, and the car will be back on monday. Yesterday we had to qualify, 33 guys who were not pre-qualified! so we had to do 11 heats, I was in heat 5 with Dutchy Johnno Scholte and Belgian guy Ian Curry. I had a nice heat, a bit too powered on my 12m, but it was still rideable. I did a backmobe, slim, 313, kgb, switch kgb, frontmobe and crashed a blind judge, kiteloop kgb and kiteloop hp. All and all a nice heat, and I passed. Then the event terrain flooded because of the extrordinairy high tide, so we went out, super powered on 8m kitelooping over cars and caravans which did not made it out in time.
A very nice first day, today the competition started but is cancelled after 2 heats because of low wind.
More tomorrow, bye!

Kitesurf Trophy Warnemünde Comments Off

Thursday the 16th we drove to to Germany to compete in the Kitesurf Trophy in Warnemünde. This is the open German Championships with multiple tourstops. It started on friday, I had to qualify to enter the event. The qualifier went well, we were riding in offshore gusty wind, about 15 knots. I had a nice opening with a low backmobe richt in front of the tower, followed by a kgb, slim to toeside, 313, high airpass and railey to blind. I did not know that my heat was already over, so I did some more tricks just in case, including a high frontmobe. Later, I asked about the flag system, and they explained to me that there were no red flags in their system. Annie had to ride 1 heat to, which went well for her.
Saturday, I started in the 1st heat. The wind was from the left, gusty 30+ knots and very much chop. I had to ride against Mario Rodwald, current German champion. It would be very difficult for me, but the powered up wind was in my advantage. I had a nice powered backmobe, slim, blind judge, kung-fu 360 out, big kiteloops, sbend and kiteloop hp, so the heat was super close. Mario won, but I was not so disapointed because of my good heat in this conditions. Later that day I had a good session, training my frontmobe some more and I even had a frontmobe 360 out to blind, but my kite fell out of the sky. Annie did very well and managed to make it to the finals, she had to take on Sabrina Lutz, also current German champ. The results were not announced.
Third day, no wind. There would be doubles today, but also course racing. The course racing was finished and all double eliminations were cancelled. I was a bit disapointed, I woke up at 7 and had all my gear ready at 8, I was prepared to ride the entire double elimination. Better luck next time!
